BDA Ambassador Sarah Chapman announces new events
Friday 22 April 2016
Do you have a dyslexic child aged 5- 14 who could really do with a boost to their confidence & self-esteem? Would you enjoy getting to know other families experiencing the same journey as you?
Operation Diversity’s founder, Sarah Chapman, a British Dyslexia Association (BDA) Ambassador, is pleased to announce that she has added more events to her ever-popular family awareness days. With 3 events already planned and more to be confirmed, this year Operation Diversity set to bring families together to inspire and encourage your children through the mastery of small achievable tasks, developing self-esteem, confidence and independence skills with the help of Sarah.
Not only is Sarah a BDA ambassador but also a multi-award winning campaigner, motivational speaker and inclusion consultant with a deep rooted interest in the fields of dyslexia and other Specific Learning Differences.
Sarah’s events so far include lazertag, forest schools and workshops for all the family to get involved in. Not only are all the activities fun and confidence boosting but they aim to build knowledge about dyslexia and neurodiversity (parents included), as well as to identify strengths, and develop strategies to overcome any future barriers to achievement so that your child ends up feeling 6ft tall after the events.
Sarah has also teamed up with Jill Russell who will provide parents with the opportunity to learn about dyslexia. Jill has 25 years professional experience as a consultant and assessor and as someone with dyslexia and who has a daughter who is also dyslexic. Jill will be running a informal session for parents to help them understand dyslexia and associated differences. This will be an opportunity for parents to share experiences and exchange tips and support with others who understand your family's situation.
