British Dyslexia Association Parents’ Roadshows visit Ipswich and Southampton
Friday 26 July 2019
Once again, the BDA has been on the road delivering Parents’ Roadshows in partnership with local dyslexia support groups - Ipswich and Southampton being the most recent locations.
We were delighted with the turnout of parents. It just shows the strength of feeling when people will give up a Saturday afternoon at the beach! Those who attended found the information useful and were provided with a great opportunity to ask the experts.
Sadly, the national picture of dyslexia support is terrible. These roadshows just highlight the plight of many parents who are seeking support for their children. Misinformation abounds and unnecessary obstacles seem to be put in their way. At least by attending the sessions parents are able to access quality information and guidance.
These roadshows also allow the BDA to capture the stories of parents, adding their voices to our campaign work and lobbying on this area.
We now have roadshows coming up in: Leeds, Chester and Llandudno. You can find more about our work in this area here.
