Education Manager
£38-40k, Full time (35 hours per week)
Home Based but able to attend the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) Head Office in Bracknell once per week.

Here is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of dyslexic individuals within Education. The role is varied with two specific focuses. You will be engaged in policy development and influencing through a wide range of activities including representing BDA at national committees, and providing expert content for our publications and media. BDA also accredits the highly prestigious qualifications for specialist teachers and course providers. This is fast moving and client centred, so you must be able to manage this with exceptional process skills. You will manage BDA projects and education initiatives, and bid writing. Reporting to the CEO, and assisted by a small staff, you will work closely with our Head of Training and Assessments and the Helpline and Policy Manager.
We are looking for a Graduate with Specialist and practical knowledge of dyslexia and a minimum level 7 specialist qualification and Assessment Practising Certificate. You will be able to provide evidence of competence in coping with bulk enquiries or applications and being able to manage a workload with competing priorities. You will need to travel at times within England and Wales so use of a car and a clean driving license is essential. Occasional travel abroad may be required.

Communications and Relationships Manager

Dyslexia affects 10% of the UK population and you could be contributing to our efforts to improve education and work opportunities for those affected. The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is in great health, we have diversified our income streams and developed our fundraising capabilities over the last few years. We are looking for someone who can implement and manage our communications and fundraising strategies, particularly through the management of existing key relationships and development of new relationships.
You would raise awareness of dyslexia through creative methods, managing our communications strategy which includes our website, social media, and publications. You would implement our fundraising strategy through building on our annual events, donations, legacies and funding applications. We have excellent relationships with key donors, sponsors for you to develop further and with our organizational and individual members, local dyslexia associations and ambassadors. We are also about to implement a new CRM system. Reporting to the CEO, you will be part of a small team of senior managers who work closely together as a supportive and effective team.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communications skills both verbally and in writing. You will be able to demonstrate effective fund raising at a senior level with either trust funds or through digital methods; or you will have had a successful background in communications or marketing which you can evidence.
