Staffa Health train with the British Dyslexia Association
Friday 26 July 2019
It was great to be asked to deliver training to Staffa Health recently. The training covered an overview of dyslexia, dyslexia in the workplace and how dyslexia might impact on service users, plus how managers can support dyslexic colleagues.
As with all BDA’s training, the content was adapted to the client and on this occasion, there was some great conversations about the impact that dyslexia might have on service users. A huge amount of ground was covered from the display of key information and the importance of using accessible formats for this, through to how the trust could support patients with accessing their service and attending appointments.
Significant discussion also took place about the difficulty that some patients may have with following and remembering complicated, sequential instructions in relation to medications and care and how these could be supported by practitioners.
It is fantastic that Staffa Health has made this commitment that can only be of benefit for their service users and employees.
