The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Dyslexia and Specific Learning Difficulties met during June with a focus on the recovery from Covid, especially with regard to education and workplaces.
The BDA’s Knowledge and Information Manager, Helen Goodsall, presented the results of our surveys, including parents’ experience of remote learning for their children and, separately, the experience of those who worked at home during Covid.
The meeting also heard from teachers Lydia Frankenburg, Sue Forsyth and Sarah Guest from London and Liverpool about their experience of supporting students during this period. Dr Mark Turner, Project Director of the Professional Tutoring Partnership presented on Specialist Teachers providing recovery tutoring, as part of the National Tutoring Programme.
