Carrying out an assessment with Post 16 learners with complex needs

This course is aimed at practising assessors who assess in the post-16 age group or those working with children who wish to further their knowledge of assessing in this age group. Delegates should hold AMBDA and/or an APC or have completed a L7 qualification in the assessment and teaching of SpLD learners. The course will broaden their understanding of a range of complex needs and how to effectively assess neurodiverse individuals.

The BDA Level 5 Certificate in Dyslexia; Literacy, Support is the first step toward becoming a dyslexia specialist and is often regarded as the first step towards a Level 7 AMBDA approved programme. Candidates who have completed the Level 5 certificate will have enough knowledge to deliver specialist tuition to individuals requiring support with dyslexia.
Accredited Level 2 - Practical Solutions for Hidden Difficulties

This programme is intended to provide a greater understanding of dyslexia, along with a range of some of the more commonly diagnosed learning difficulties including: Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD); Attention Deficit and Attention Deficit Hyper Activity (ADD/ADHD); Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia. For each of these SpLDs the possible causes, signs and indicators and possible support strategies are explored.

The aim of this eLearning module is to enable teachers and parents to support the multilingual dyslexic individual in learning an additional curriculum language. That is, for example, in the UK a child may have Welsh as their first language, use English in the classroom, but also have to learn French. The materials for this module have been developed as part of a project, funded with support from the European Commission.

Renewing your APC (SASC Approved)

This SASC approved course is aimed at practising assessors who assess in the pre-16 age group or those working with adults who wish to further their knowledge of assessing in this age group. Delegates should hold AMBDA and/or an APC or have completed a L7 qualification in the assessment and teaching of SpLD learners. The course will support you in submitting your APC application as well as general good practice in report writing.
