Study skills at home for older students with dyslexia
Studying during the COVID-19 school closures can be particularly challenging for young people with dyslexia. This FREE session looks at how parents can help young people with dyslexia (11+ years) develop the skills needed.
The session covers:
- What are the study skills involving in reading, writing, numeracy, organisation and revision
- Examples of common and effective study skills
- Core strategies for strong study skills
- Assistive technology available to support study skills
Lynn Lovell - Level 7 course leader, Diploma in Assessment & Intervention, Tutor and trainer
Lynn Lovell is a trainer and tutor on several SpLD/Dyslexia courses with The British Dyslexia Association, teaching both face to face and supporting learners online. She is passionate about all areas of assessment and support for individuals who face barriers to learning. She has completed an MA in Specific Learning Difficulties with a focus on developing self-esteem for those with dyslexia. Lynn has previously been employed as a specialist teacher in secondary and FE settings and as an Acting SENCo.
